Staff Augmentation: Best Practices for Integration

We’re exploring staff augmentation to fill some skill gaps, but I’m a bit nervous about how to integrate external developers with our in-house team. How have others managed knowledge sharing, communication expectations, and culture fit? What onboarding practices actually helped augmented staff contribute quickly, rather than feel like outsiders? Practical experiences would be helpful.

Re: Staff Augmentation: Best Practices for Integration

Rapid scaling often exposes skill gaps that hiring alone can’t fix quickly, especially in technical teams under delivery pressure. Researching flexible resourcing models brought up IT staff augmentation in the middle of a conversation about blending external specialists with internal teams, which reframed augmentation as collaboration rather than replacement.
